Using the Internet for Better Health Care
Course Description: Through leaders in medicine and technology, this one-day course will explore where health care and technology currently intersect and what the future will bring. Two hands-on Discovery Sessions will allow participants to learn why patients access the Web, what tools are available to physicians, and the latest cutting-edge Internet health care technology.

Objectives
- Understand the direction the Internet is pushing the patient-physician relationship, health care industry, and health information process.
- Identify barriers physicians have in the use of the Internet and possible solutions to these barriers.
- Identify major types of Internet consumer health sites and applications.
- Identify major types of Internet physician health sites and applications.
- Become familiar with the features provided by Internet tools developed for physicians in clinical, office management, and educational settings.
- Understand the limitations of the current Internet tools.
- Hands-on experience on physician Internet tools.
