How to Prepare for Trial
Think you've done your homework and are well prepared for trial? Listen as attorney Luke Pittoni discusses how to best prepare yourself if faced with a lawsuit and outlines the litigation process from beginning to end. Using a real cardiothoracic case, watch as Mr. Pittoni cross examines one of our members, and participates in the discussion following on how well, or not so well, the defendant did in presenting his case.

    Luke M. Pittoni, Esq.

    Mr. Pittoni is the Senior Partner of the law firm Heidell, Pittoni, Murphy and Bach, LLP and practices both in New and Connecticut. He is a 1971 graduate of Fordham Law School and for over twenty-seven years his primary area of practice has been in the defense of medical malpractice and product liability cases. He is also the founder and former President of the New York State Medical Defense Bar Association.

    Delos M. Cosgrove, MD
    Cleveland, OH

    Dr. Cosgrove is Chairman of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He received his graduate training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Boston Children's Hospital, and Brook General Hospital in London. He is a member of several Editorial Boards and his bibliography numbers over 360 papers that include journal articles, book chapters, one book, and 17 training and continuing medical education films. Throughout his career, Dr. Cosgrove has performed over 17,000 surgical procedures and has become a world-renowned expert in the field of heart valve repair and he has developed and filed 16 patents.
