STS Webinar Series
STS ICD-10 Webinar Series – New!
All webinars are available for viewing.
In order to help you and your colleagues prepare for the transition to ICD-10, STS is offering a series of on-demand coding webinars specific to cardiothoracic surgery for both coders and surgeons. The webinars are available by discipline (adult cardiac, general thoracic, and congenital heart surgery) or as a complete bundle. Each purchase also includes a bonus webinar on the Procedure Coding System (PCS).
ICD-10-CM Adult Cardiac Surgery Webinar Package
ICD-10 for Adult Cardiac Surgery Coders (Presented by Julie R. Painter, MBA, CCVTC)
ICD-10 for Adult Cardiac Surgeons (Presented by Stephen J. Lahey, MD)
ICD-10-CM General Thoracic Surgery Webinar Package
ICD-10 for General Thoracic Surgery Coders (Presented by Julie R. Painter, MBA, CCVTC)
ICD-10 for General Thoracic Surgeons (Presented by Francis C. Nichols, III, MD)
ICD-10-CM Congenital Heart Surgery Webinar Package
ICD-10 for Congenital Heart Surgery Coders (Presented by Julie R. Painter, MBA, CCVTC)
ICD-10 for Congenital Heart Surgeons (Presented by Jeffrey P. Jacobs, MD)
Webinars for coders focus on common disorders and diagnoses for each discipline. Using relevant guidelines and coding examples, the webinars show participants the differences between ICD-9 and ICD-10. Surgeon webinars cover the documentation changes required by physicians to accommodate the specificity of ICD-10.
Bonus: ICD-10-PCS Webinar
(Presented by Julie R. Painter, MBA, CCVTC)
Included in each webinar package and bundle, this webinar highlights the hospital transition to ICD-10-PCS. Because the new system is based on physician documentation, this webinar is important because it alerts hospital-based physicians to the relevant system changes. ICD-10-PCS codes are significantly more detailed then ICD-9-PCS codes, so additional specificity and communication may be required between physicians and hospital coders to avoid excessive queries.
