Two years ago the Society launched an exciting initiative to enable member self-nominations for positions on particular STS standing committees or workforces. Last year over 100 self-nominations were received, and approximately 20 percent of those who self-nominated were appointed to 2010-11 STS leadership positions; others have been tapped for key task force and other STS leadership roles.
Self-nominations for 2011-12 leadership positions can now be submitted through the Society's electronic self-nomination form, and will be accepted through September 30, 2010 (the form will be removed after that date). If the form does not immediately load when you access the link above, click your browser's "refresh" or "reload" button.
Self-nominations received during September 2010 will apply to leadership roles that will get underway after the 2011 STS Annual Meeting. Members interested in serving in an STS leadership capacity can view a listing of the Society’s leadership bodies by visiting the Workforces and Committees page. The majority of appointments to STS standing committees and workforces are for three-year terms, potentially renewable on a one-time basis.
