STS Data Managers ListServe Information
Please read the following STS Data Managers ListServe information before proceeding to the sign-up form.
The Data Managers ListServe is a communication tool for data managers who have responsibility for collecting and/or entering data into the STS National Database. The Data Managers ListServe is inclusive of all three databases: adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery and congenital heart surgery data managers. The Data Managers ListServe Administrator will approve registration to the ListServe. You must be listed as a contact in the STS National Database to join. Please make sure your site's information is current.
The Data Managers ListServe initially will be moderated (meaning posts are screened before posting) and STS reserves the right to suspend posting privileges for any user, if, in our sole opinion, it seems appropriate to do so. Screening postings is also intended to occur only for a short time.
Postings: Topics that would be considered appropriate include, but are not limited to (not in any particular order):
|
Data collecting methods |
Jobs Wanted |
Subject Lines: Please edit subject lines when necessary to make them relevant to your post. This helps from having to search for email threads later.
Replies: Before replying to a posting, consider whether to reply to the whole list or individually to the sender of the message.
To reply to the whole list: Send email to datamanagers@lists.sts.org or use the “Reply” function in your email program.
To reply individually to the original sender, look for their email address listed and compose a new email, pasting in the address.
The list of your names and email addresses that you provide when you register will be confidential and will not be distributed.
Forwarding of a posting without permission is a violation of general netiquette and common courtesy. However, quoting portions of a post back to the ListServe in order to remind others what you are responding to facilitates dialogue and is encouraged.
General: Messages should be for discussing of the sender’s ideas and for advancing understanding of data managers’ responsibilities and maintaining data validity and integrity. This tool can, and should be used to improve communication and knowledge among data managers.
Think what you are asking about or responding to before submitting to the ListServe and remain professional. Advertising, virus warnings, non-STS National Database-related issues, ‘action items’, or other off-topic email is inappropriate.
It is strongly recommended, but not required, that postings and replies include your name and facility/organization to aid communication flow.
Registration: STS reserves the right to deny posting privileges to anyone deemed to be in violation of the above statements or for any other reason deemed necessary.
By virtue of your registration to the ListServe, you agree to indemnify and save STS harmless from any and all damages, costs and attorney’s fees arising on account of any claim or assertion of damages or libel or slander made against STS by anyone whomsoever, occasioned by any posting by you of a material of whatever nature.
Neither the Data Manager ListServe nor STS makes any guarantees implied or otherwise, about the information shared on this List, and STS reserves the right to change these statements at any time without notices.
If you have read and agree to the Database Managers Listserve policies, please continue to the registration form.
