Stay Up-to-Date on News Affecting Your Practice
The Society recently launched an exciting new member benefit to help you stay informed about the latest and most important information from around the world affecting the specialty and your practice. Cardiothoracic Surgery News is a daily emailed news digest prepared exclusively for STS members. Each issue will provide summaries of breaking news, new research, device launches, and other relevant information from a wide variety of media outlets. If you have timely news from your country that should be included, have feedback, or are not receiving the emails, please contact the STS Marketing & Communications Department.

Abstract submission for the STS/EACTS Latin America Cardiovascular Surgery Conference, November 22-24 in Cancun, Mexico, is open for just a few more days. Make sure to submit your research for consideration by this Friday, August 2, 2019. This international conference will highlight the multidisciplinary approach to coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, congenital heart disease, thoracic aortic disease, atrial fibrillation, and the surgical management of heart failure. Provide Free Heart Surgery Brochure to Your Patients
STS recently redesigned its popular “What to Expect After Heart Surgery” brochure to help prepare patients for their return home. The guide, available in both English and Spanish, explains what a patient can expect to feel like after surgery and provides information on caring for incisions, medications, symptoms that need attention, resuming activity, and cardiac rehabilitation. Download and print this free resource to share with your patients. You also can add a link from your institution’s website to the brochure, which can be found in the patient resources section of the STS website.
