Provide Feedback through 2018 STS Member Needs-Assessment Survey
The Society is conducting an important Member Needs-Assessment Survey to better understand your professional demands and help guide decisions about future educational content, practice tools, and member benefits. If you haven’t already done so, please complete this online survey; it should take only about 7 minutes. Individual responses will remain anonymous and confidential, and only aggregate survey data will be shared with the membership.

Check Out These Must-Attend Sessions
The complete program for the upcoming Annual Meeting recently was released. The Program, Registration, and Housing brochure includes session descriptions, agendas, and speakers to help you organize your time in San Diego. Certain sessions were planned in collaboration with other international medical societies:

  • EACTS @ STS—In this session, international experts will examine alternatives to the standard classic repair for DeBakey type I aortic dissection and discuss the outcomes of innovative extended arch repair techniques, including the distal aortic frozen elephant trunk, novel branched arch endografts, and valve retention root reconstructive surgery.
  • ESTS @ STS—Discussion will center on controversial issues in general thoracic surgery, including invasive staging in early stage lung cancer, multimodal approaches to the treatment of stage IIIAN2 lung cancer, and the use of induction therapy in patients with T2N0 esophageal cancer.
  • STS/ISHLT Joint Symposium—This session will address how ventricular assist devices are utilized in European and Asian populations and will highlight the latest innovations in univentricular and biventricular support.
