Dr. Higgins was awarded an honorary doctorate of laws by Skidmore. He is Surgeon-in-Chief of The Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as the William Stewart Halsted Professor of Surgery and Director of the Department of Surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.
