The Society of Thoracic Surgeons extends its sincerest condolences to the family and colleagues of Dr. James Tweddell, who passed away on July 1, 2022, after a brave battle with cancer. Considered a modern-day giant in congenital heart surgery, he will be deeply missed. Dr. Tweddell was 62.
