Abstract Submission

I am unable to log in to start my submission. How do I procced?

You must log in using your STS credentials. If you do not have an STS account, you must create one. If you are having trouble logging in using your STS credentials, contact STS Member Services. 
 

Do presenters have to register for the 2027 STS Annual Meeting?

All presenters must register for the 2027 STS Annual Meeting. STS does not waive meeting registration fees or reimburse travel and/or housing expenses for cardiothoracic surgeons attending or speaking at the Annual Meeting. Presenters who are STS Members receive the member discount at registration; early bird discounts are also available. 
 

Is there a virtual presentation option?

No. All presenters must present in person in San Diego at the 2027 STS Annual Meeting.

When will I be notified of a decision on my submission?

Submission decisions are expected to be sent by early October 2026.

Can I submit an encore or previously presented abstract at the 2027 STS Annual Meeting?

Only work that has not been previously presented or published may be submitted.

Can I submit a case report or case series?

Yes.

Can I edit my submission?

Yes, you can edit your submission up until the submission deadline (Aug. 31, 2026). 

After the submission deadline, can I add additional authors?

Additional authors cannot be added after the submission deadline. 

I missed the submission deadline. Is there any possibility of submitting after the deadline has passed?

No. Submissions cannot be accepted after the Aug. 31, 2026, deadline.

How do I change the presenting author on my submission?

If you need to change the presenting author after the submission deadline, the new presenting author must already be listed as an author on the submission. Please contact STS Education for assistance.

What are the dates and location of the meeting?

The 63rd STS Annual Meeting will take place in person at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. The official meeting dates are Thursday, Jan. 28 – Sunday, Jan. 31, 2027.
 

Where will the meeting take place?

All educational programming for the 63rd STS Annual Meeting will take place at: 

San Diego Convention Center

Will there be a virtual registration option?

No. STS 2027 will take place in person only, though the meeting will be recorded and made available for purchase. 

What is the dress code?

Attire is business professional. Wear comfortable shoes and bring layers, as the temperature in meeting rooms may be cold.
