STS members are invited to share feedback on a draft document, STS/AATS Clinical Practice Guideline on the Management of Type B Aortic Dissection (TBAD).
Aortic dissection is a common catastrophic event, with incidences ranging from three to 10 cases per 100,000 patients in the US to 16 cases per 100,000 patients in Sweden. The clinical practice guideline, developed jointly by STS and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, seeks to provide a current framework with which to approach patients with TBAD.
After performing a comprehensive and methodical review of supportive evidence, the writing group developed information and recommendations regarding the incidence, diagnosis, medical therapies and interventional strategies to manage patients with TBAD.
Please review the draft guideline and submit your comments by Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
