International Educational Activity Proposals
The STS Workforce on International Education is currently seeking proposals for collaborative or STS-owned educational activities to take place in 2026-2028. The Workforce, in collaboration with the STS Council on Education Operating Board, has developed a set of near-term geographic and subspecialty priorities available, but proposals outside of those parameters are welcome.
- Live/in-person activity proposals for 2027-2028 are submittable now until May 1, 2026, for review and approval this summer.
- Virtual activities are reviewed and approved on a rolling basis throughout the year.

STS offers the Latin Heart Rounds and South Asia series of webinars, featuring surgeons and other healthcare professionals from those respective regions discussing and debating a broad range of cardiothoracic surgery topics.

STS-EACTS @ ASCVTS 2026 Workshop
STS is collaborating with the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) on a one-day joint session workshop at the ASCVTS 34th Annual Meeting taking place April 16-19, 2026 in Antalya, Turkiye. Heart Valve Disease Forum 2026
KTCVS-STS Asia Symposium on Valvular Heart Disease
STS is pleased to co-present the Heart Valve Disease Forum (HVDF) with the Korean Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, offering the latest knowledge regarding the basics, diagnosis, treatment, and future of valvular heart disease. The meeting will take place September 10-11, 2026, in Seoul, Korea.
2026 STS-ASCVTS Aortic Summit
STS is pleased to co-present the premiere aorta meeting in Asia with the Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVTS). An internationally renowned faculty will lead two full days of presentation and discussions, focusing on diagnosis and treatment of thoracic aortic lesions, including endovascular approach. The meeting is designed for all individuals involved in the treatment of aortic disease – including cardiac anesthesiologists, CT residents, perfusionists, ICU and OR nurses, in addition to cardiothoracic surgeons. The meeting will take place November 12-14 in Tokyo, Japan.
2026 STS/EACTS/LACES Latin America Cardiovascular Surgery Conference
Taking place December 3-5, 2026 in Santiago, Chile, the 2026 program will feature a world-class, international faculty who will address and explore the latest developments and best practices in coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease, thoracic aortic disease, atrial fibrillation, and the surgical management of heart failure.
In addition to the invited lectures and keynote presentations, the program will include original scientific abstracts in oral and e-Poster sessions, technical videos related to procedural expertise, trials, and quality outcomes sessions, and interactive panel discussions.
The Conference is aimed at cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, physician assistants, nurses, and affiliated health care professionals. We aim to offer attendees access to the highest level of education with the goal of improved patient management.
The final day of the conference will conclude with a program of ‘hands-on’ skills workshops.
