Live/in-person activity proposals for 2026-2027 (or proposals with estimated costs >$5000) are submittable until April 1, 2025, for review and approval this summer.

Virtual activities and activities costing less than $5000 can be submitted and considered on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Please contact STS Education with any questions.

Guidelines

  1.  All proposals with estimated costs >$5000 require processing through the full application process, and therefore necessitate a minimum of 12 months for approval.
Submitters are encouraged to categorize their proposal into the following four areas:
      a.   Standalone Live Meetings (completely and solely STS-branded, implemented, and funded)
      b.   Collaborative Live Meetings (done in collaboration/partnership with other groups or societies)
      c.   Joint Sessions/Representation at STS Annual Meeting or External Meetings (sessions or speakers at other society meetings or the STS Annual Meeting)
      d.   Virtual Symposia and Webinars
  2. Other proposal ideas outside the realm of these four areas are welcome and encouraged.
  3. The lead times from submission of an activity to implementation varies by activity, but guidelines should be defined:
      a.   Standalone Live Meetings: 2 years
      b.   Collaborative Live Meetings: 1.5 years
      c.   Joint Sessions/Representation at External Meetings: 1-1.5 years
      d.   Virtual Symposia and Webinars: 3-6 months
