Annual Meeting FAQ

General Questions

Is the meeting in person or online?

Out of concern for the health and safety of our community during the surging pandemic, STS is converting its 58th Annual Meeting from an in-person event in Miami to a virtual event. The program will feature thought-provoking lectures, late-breaking research, and the outstanding didactic and interactive educational programs you’ve come to expect. Virtual registration includes subsequent access to the STS Annual Meeting Online product that will be available through the STS Learning Center for 1 year.

What is included in the virtual meeting?

STS 2022 will be live-streamed on a virtual meeting platform, and on-demand sessions and e-posters will be available throughout. Registration for the virtual meeting also includes subsequent access to Annual Meeting Online, which will feature recordings for nearly all meeting sessions and content in the STS Learning Center for 1 year. Continuing medical education credit will be available for both the virtual meeting and Annual Meeting Online.

How much does registration cost?

Visit the STS 2022 event page for details.

I registered to attend in person, but need to switch to virtual registration. How do I change my registration?

If your in-person registration has not been transferred to virtual or canceled by January 21, 2022, STS will switch your registration to virtual and refund the difference. No full cancelations will be accepted after January 21.

Contact the STS Registration Support Center if you have questions.

What type of continuing education credit is available?

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physician Assistants (PAs) also may claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons designates this other activity (blended live and enduring material) for a maximum of 42.40 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians and physician assistants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

On-demand sessions and e-posters will be available for viewing in the virtual platform approximately 1 week before the Annual Meeting begins.

What content is included with virtual registration?
